HOW WE OBTAINED THIS VEHICLE

This vehicle was donated by an “ol college buddy” as one of our projects at Mojo Rod and Custom.

THE RESTORATION

This was a total frame-off restoration build. The frame was stripped, detailed and painted. All wear components within the original suspension were replaced and the brake system was completely gone through. The engine chosen for the project was a 350cid from Scoggin-Dicky along with a turbo 350 automatic transmission from TCI. Both power steering and serpentine belt drive components were installed during the build as an upgrade.

 

Due to several old coats of paint, the body was stripped all the way down to the metal in order to fully expose the substrate. Then the metal was worked and/or replaced to keep body filler requirements at a minimum Next, the body was primed, painted and the truck was reassembled. The turquoise paint we used was the original color of the truck and we, at Mojo, felt it was a perfect fit for the project.
