HOW WE OBTAINED THIS VEHICLE

MoJo Rod and Custom was gifted this truck from a customer who didn’t want to pursue engine replacement when it finally gave out. We were thrilled to get our hands on it and turn it into the beauty it is today!

As we started to inspect this old truck, we realized all the body panels were relatively straight (even in the truck bed where damage on an older model truck like this would normally be significant). We were fortunate – there was hardly any damage at all. Add to that fact that there was no rust on the vehicle, we decided it was indeed a great candidate for our next restoration project.

THE RESTORATION

The project was a complete frame off restoration where all related components were blasted, cleaned, painted and/or replaced to restore the vehicle back to factory specification.

 

As with any restoration project, the really fun part is watching as the project comes to life with final assembly with carefully selected color choices. Everyone in the shop enjoyed watching this beauty come together as we worked to maintain the original integrity of this vehicle – just as it rolled off the factory floor in 1985!

 

When we finished this project we invited the original owners of the truck back to the shop for a first hand look – their reaction was priceless!
